ABOUT American Company Review.....

American Company Review began as a 14 year old's, named Petey, idea, and it's currently hosted as a subdomain on his website. One day he was sitting around his house, ya see, and he thought of this idea to make a website showing companies who meet at least one of the website's criteria:

  • MADE IN USA
  • SWEATSHOP FREE
  • ANIMAL FREE
  • ORGANIC (food only)
  • UNIONIZED
  • EMPLOYEE OWNED
  • Pretty good criteria, eh? Yeah, but don't worry, this website isn't completely run by some kid in a little suburban home. His adult friends are doing tons of volunteer research, and posting new "Company Reviews" everyday. And you could too. Click on the little button up there that says "How You Can Help." That way, you can post your own reviews.

What the hell's a Company Review?

It's really quite simple. A company review isn't exactly a normal "review." Let me explain. First of all, there's a bunch of catagories of stuff ya like to buy, right? Yeah. Under those catagories, there are names of tons of companies, probably many you've never heard of. You click on a name, and are brought to a page about that company. The page contains the following:

  • Icons that show what criteria it meets. Is it sweatshop free AND employee owned? NICE...
  • The Company's URL. (if they have one)
  • The Company's Logo. (if they have one)
  • Comments People have Made via ACR about the company.
  • Any Important Notes.
  • Other URLs and or Articles about the Company (if any)
  • Also Included on that company's page is a small form in case you find any errors that you want to report. That way, you can be sure that American Company Review has the most updated info! See Disclaimer for more info.

    THE MISSION...

Well, ACR's mission is not just to give you a list of a bunch of stores to buy at. We're not telling you to buy at any of these. It's not like we're paid by these companies to advertise them on the internet. Nope. We're just showing you stores so that when you do want to buy something you need, you don't go to Walmart or the Gap. (for more info on why these companies suck, check out the links page.)
